The blogger seem to give me some problem for my Singapore trip photos. Coding problem I guess. I think I messed something up.

Anyway, will split each day to each post, better than squeezing them into one post. Will update the one in the latest days and will edit the previous post. Sorry for the inconvenience. This post will be deleted a few days after I come back from my Singapore trip. Until then, do keep reading my blog....

Singapore Trip 08/07/07 - Day 8

This is the last day of mine in Singapore. Finally, a day for me to wake up quite late. However, today had to go visiting of some far relatives' houses. Went to Bedok and Kovan then to Chinatown for lunch with my aunty again.

After lunch, grab our luggage then headed down to airport. The airport was filled with people as it is a Sunday. Luckily Singaporean are quite efficient than Malaysia with many open counters, so there wasn't much impatience in me.

Touch down at Penang in the evening. Home sweet home....

Singapore Trip 07/07/07 - Day 7

07/07/07 is a good day, claimed by many people, as you can only see such date every 100 years. That is why many couples got married, especially in Singapore. This is my cousin sister's wedding day too. Another wedding which I had to attend after Ms.Koh's. Had to got up early in the morning, as the groom was going to reach at around 8 in the morning.

I pity my cousin sister, as it was her wedding where she should get enough rest, but ended up waking up at 5 in the morning for preparation. Went for breakfast across the street. Look at the eggs in the photo. That is the reason why I do not like to consume Chinese food in Singapore, cause the quality is not really good. The eggs were claimed to be half boiled eggs. Omg, I can even do better than that man. Lousy coffee shop. I usually eat only Western food or Fast Food in Singapore, no Chinese food for me.
My cousin sister, with her husband and her parents. Everyone is getting ready for the morning church wedding at The Church of the Nativity of the Blessed Virgin Mary. At the wedding, everything went quite fine, except for one thing, the Priest. In my opinion, the priest was not so good when he is giving his own speech about love and marriage. He used words like Divorce and Die in his speech. Those are negative words which should not be used in a marriage ceremony. Why couldn't he say some better things or use better words?

After the church, headed back to the hotel for some afternoon sleep. In the evening, it was time to go to Esplanade Mall. The dinner was over there. Was stucked a traffic jam by taxi, as many of the roads were closed, as Singaporeans were having their Singapore National Day rehearsal, and it was a Saturday.
That is the rehearsal stage outside Esplanade. They blocked the area.
There were many people sitting at the road path seeing the rehearsal. People were standing along the bridge too to get a better look (the bridge is at the far back of the photo).
This is the restaurant - "My Humble House". Can a house be humble? I wonder.
The dinner is for a couple, named James and Jessie.
The wedding cake. Too bad there wasn't a couple toy on top of the cake, like the ones which Westerners usually have.
The table was decorated at such. Smart move, if not the table would be very plain. Wonder how many roses they have to use for so many tables.
I got a great seat - next to the window of a beautiful Singapore. This was the view I took of the wonderful view. It is so rare to have a wedding dinner with such a great scenery.
Fireworks lit up when the married couple walked into the restaurant. What a perfect timing. The fireworks were actually for the National Day rehearsal, but I guess luck was on my cousin sister's side.
The usual wine pouring ceremony. Sadly, this wedding only uses the words "Cheers". No intensity at all. The usual "Yam Seng" was not there.
The menu of the dishes which were served during the dinner. I took a photo of almost all the dishes, as I forgot to take photo of some.
Dish #1 - Spicy Crab Rolls with Jelly Fish, Chilled Drunken Chicken Gelo, "Ma La" Octupus, BBQ Roast Duck Slices and Spring Rolls in Thai Style.

Dish #2's was not taken by me. I forgot.
Dish #3 - Wok Fried Fragrant Butter Prawns.
Dish #4 - Braised Abalone Mushrooms with Spinach Tofu.
Dish #5 - Steamed "Hong Chao" in Superior Soy Sauce.
Dish #6 - Steamed Chicken with Yunnan Ham, on a Bed of Kailan.
Dish #7 - Stewed Hong Kong Ee Fu Noodles with Mushrooms and Chives.
This is actually not a dish, it is dry nice mix with hot water. It brings you this effect. They did this just before the desert was served, probably for some effect.

Dish #8 was not taken by me again. I forgot.
After the dinner, we headed back to the hotel. This was a shot of how Esplanade looks like. It is often being called as the Durian in Singapore. Don't think others, although the shape has a bit like it. Tiring...

Singapore Trip 06/07/07 - Day 6

Woke up quite early today, as today would be quite a busy day. After all the morning preparation, including breakfast, I headed down to Singapore Expo to have a look at the building structure and what is located nearby. Knowing that it is actually too early for the place to be filled with people, I have no choice but to take a shot to explore.
As I expected, it was very quiet. There were more than 10 halls at Singapore Expo. This plan was actually part of a wing of Singapore Expo. It basically reminded me of Penang's International Sports Arena (PISA).

After walking a while in a quiet big structure building, I headed down to Changi Airport to await the arrival of my mom, sister and aunt. I actually thought of selling an unused SG$ 10 Public Phone Card of mine in the airport by shouting and asking people, but I changed my mind. I guess I have to sell it on the net for a lower price.
After meeting with them, we took a taxi heading down to InterContinental Hotel at Bugis. I would actually love to take MRT, rather than taxi, as I like walking. Just for your information, the hotel was not paid by ourselves, as this was actually a wedding trip for us (excluding me, as it is a holiday and wedding). Therefore, the hotel billed is being paid by the father of my cousin who is getting married, which in short means my uncle.

After checking in, I had to go back to my aunt's house to get my luggage. MRT, my favourite way of traveling, got me there and back to the Hotel, while the rest (all females) went for shopping. What can I expect from them, as they are XX based.
In the evening, we headed down to Neptune Court at Marine Vista for dinner as the going to be groom's family was holding a small function dinner for all the relatives of both the groom and bride, or maybe I should say bride and groom.
The wedding car for tomorrow. Yeah, it is a BMW. I'm not sure who owns it though, but what a car for a wedding occasion. I have seen people using old Minis as wedding cars. I feel that Minis would be so much better.
Headed back to the hotel after dinner to get ready for a super busy day tomorrow. A beautiful environment of the lobby can be seen. Good night...

Singapore Trip 05/07/07 - Day 5

Today was basically a day of exploring malls and city area. But before I go to those places, I headed to National University of Singapore (NUS) first to have a look. It was seriously huge. With beautiful trees and old strong buildings, it really portrays one of the best university in the world. You can see the map for directions and stuffs. But it is not really clear though. The campus has city buses going through it and also they have their own shuttle buses to travel within the campus. That is like really cool. However, there is one thing that they should have to make the place nicer. That would be a big lake, with nice grassy land and also nice trees.
I saw this at their parking areas. The downside of this university is you have to pay for parking. That is really sad.
I only went to visit the NUS Business School. Was lazy to see the rest. The canteen is super big. If I compare the canteen with the Malaysia Nottingham's SA cafeteria, the NUS canteen is like 10 times better. Their size of the canteen is like the entire ground floor of SA and they serve so many different kind of food - Middle Eastern, Vietnamese, Western, Chinese, Indian and Malay. The Malaysia Nottingham Campus's losses out flat.
There lecture halls are quite cool. They have signboards telling you that there is lecturers being conducted in the hall. This is better than letting students peeping inside the halls.
After that, I went to Vivo City. This was my first time and it is really big, but not much for me to shop there.
There is the Singapore Cruise Center near the mall. This is where all the ships from overseas or Cruise stops.
A picture of "Fei Long". That is what it is called.
A beautiful view taken from the 3rd floor of Vivo City. You can see Sentosa Island's signboard. It is in White.
Cable Cars to Sentosa Island.
You can go to Sentosa Island by monorail too, if you are afraid of heights. I choose not to go to the Island as I feel that it would be boring there.
I guess the PK word really influences me and my friends. Seeing this, Sze Wei's face appeared in my mine again. Really pity him that this name has stucked on him.
Ate at Fig & Olive. Just to try it out as I never heard of it before. It turned out to be a nice place to dine.
This is Figo Marinara Oglio. The cheese on the pasta smelled so good.
Potato and Cheese. Wonderful.

After lunch, it was on to Transfomers in Digital 4k. My second time watching it. It was brilliant, the sound and the sharpness of the movie is just unbelievable. Superb.
After movie, on to Clarke Quay. They now have a logo for it. The place really changed a lot.
A nice photo of Clarke Quay.
Where to dine? Hooters. Haha. Yeah the hooters in Singapore. Haven't tried it before, but I have heard about their concept. So on we go inside. To let you know why is their concept so popular for guys, please look at the photo below.
Yeah, it's the clothes that they wear. With a top like that and short pants. But faces still matters.
Anyway, this is their Baked Sole Fillet. Was a great meal.
After dinner, I went to City Hall, Raffles Place and Marina Bay to have a look. Raffles Place was basically filled with office buildings. This was a shot up towards the sky. All office buildings. City Hall was nice as they have malls and underpass to Esplanade and Suntec City.

After that, went back to my aunt's place again. Alright have to sleep. Tomorrow is going to be quite a busy day....

Singapore Trip 04/07/07 - Day 4

Woke up in the morning with a mission to finish the east side of Singapore. I went all the way to Pasir Ris first and start my journey by slowly going west. That would seem like a better choice. Pasir Ris does not seem to have anything much, but Tampines and Simei have at least some malls and stuffs.

Kembangan seemed to me like a some rich man's place, as there are many landed properties there. Landed properties are like damn expensive in Singapore, and if you own one, means you are one lucky person.
Saw a Swift with a great yellow colour. It really looks like a sports car. If I have a Swift, I think I would follow this guy to paint it with such colour.
At Paya Lebar, the only mall which I can walk to the nearest is Tanjong Katong Complex, and seriously, it is quite place. It was the first time that I saw a mall with a lot of Malay shops. It was seriously like Sungai Wang Plaza, except imagine it as most shops are own by Malays, instead of Chinese.
After that, I went to Aljunied, where the Singapore's famous Geylang area is nearby. Sean would ask me to go and explore Geylang, and I wanted to. But seeing the map, and don't know which part has stuffs which was seen by Sean, I decided to give up. However, I saw a shop selling Koi and the word "Fish" and "Koi" immediately made me think of Sze Wei. He will know what I mean.
At Bugis, there were lots of shops and Bugis Junction was quite a nice place. It has certainly grow since the last time I came. There was this wonderful Harry Potter posters at the cinema area of Bugis Junction. Really felt like taking them home, but later will get caught, like how 2 men was caught for stealing Homer at a Malaysian cinema.
At Parkview Parade, near Bugis, the escalator will auto start when you move close to it. It is damn nice. And it will auto stop after a while, when there is no one near the escalator or on it.

After Bugis, with lots of time to spare, and no activities planned on where to go, I have decided to see what movies can I watch at Cathay Cineleisure again. Yet again, I went to watch Die Hard 4.0. Haha, yeah again. It is really a nice movie, the jokes are damn funny and the actions are really wow. Only John McClane can do it.
For dinner, I went to eat at New York New York at CityLink, City Hall,, which is recommended by my cousin. It turn out to be a great place with fantastic environment.
This is their Tomato and Mozzarella Bruschetta. It is so huge and the tomatoes were really, really juicy.
And this is my main course, Latino Chicken Escalope. It just looks like ordinary chicken right? BUT, the sauce was damn wonderful. It really had quality.

After that, headed back to my aunt's place with tiredness and really need to sleep now...
