This is a blog post of a trip which I have longing to go for. Yeah, it is the trip to Singapore. I will be spending a 8 day trip at Singapore to complete a mission of mine, which is to stop at every MRT station to check the places out. In addition to that, I have a wedding to attend, which is my cousin sister's wedding. Alright, this is going to be a long blog entry, as I will update all the journey of my days into this post. Which means I will always edit this post, so do check back here from time to time.
Day 1 I was waiting for my flight at Penang Airport. It was an hour till boarding time.
After an hour of journey in the air, I have finally reached Changi Airport. An airport which I really respect a lot is Changi Airport.
Unfortunately, I did not like the McDonalds at Chang Airport. Look at the Filet o' Fish. It is slightly smaller than Malaysia's one.
While I was eating my burger at Changi Airport, I saw this poster for some Singapore Food Festival. The crab looked tempting, but I do not like to eat crabs.
After eating, I bored the MRT to my aunt's place. After putting my bags and taking a pit stop, I left with my cousin to the bus station. She was off for a movie and I was off to Dover station. So different direction then.
When I reach Dover Station, it was Singapore Polytechnic that I saw when I turned. It is a big university, but sadly, it was a Sunday, so there was no students. Bored the MRT to my first MRT station to stop on, Boon Lay.
Upon reaching Boon Lay, I saw a bus interchange. I have to say, the bus interchange in Singapore are quite efficient and nice. Compare those to our Malaysia's biggest bus station, Pudu. This is way better.
Next stop was Lakeside. Nothing much here, except for HDB flats and a beautiful view of a lake.
After that, Chinese Garden was the 3rd stop. It was a nice place to visit at Chinese Garden, although I did not explore the whole garden, as time was not on my side. There were many fishes and also turtles in the river, near the entrance of Chinese Garden.
A map of Chinese Garden. Click on it to see what you can explore at the Garden.
7 Story Pagoda was quite popular among the visitors, as you can see many people taking photos of it. You can actually walk up the stairs, but I did not do it.
Next was the Zodiac Garden. Where they have statues of the 12 Chinese Zodiac and the description of each Zodiac. My was the dragon.
A long white bridge. Very nice indeed. Imagine you taking your wedding photo on this bridge, or set it as your background. It looks holy or grand or perhaps serene.
After Chinese Garden, I stop at each MRT stops between Chinese Garden to Tanjong Pagar. Nothing much to see there, except for HDB flats and some small malls. So with a little more time to spare, I decided to visit Novena and Newton, which are on the North South line. The Mr.Bean stall in Singapore is quite good actually. I have a drink of Soya Milk at the stall, and it was quite good. A prospect for franchising, perhaps?
After walking around the malls at Novena. I stopped at OrganiCafeXperience to have my dinner. It was a Grilled Boneless Chicken. Noticed that the top left of the plate has some smudges? Well, I actually moved the meat there, before putting it back to its original position for a photo shoot.
After dinner, it was a wrap for Day 1. My legs are really aching now. Feeling tired.
Day 2
Woke at early today, because I am desperate to finish the North South line today, not wanting to delay it for another day. After having my breakfast, off I go to Dover station again to board the MRT to Jurong East. I reached Jurong East, and stopped by the McDonalds for add 2 hashbrown to my morning breakfast. After that, I moved on to complete my North South line, by stopping at each MRT station, from Jurong East to Toa Payoh, as I have been to Newton and Novena yesterday and I have been to the other South stations during my last trip to Singapore.
Bukit Gombak had a stadium and a sports complex just below the MRT station. I did not even been to a Malaysian stadium, but I have stepped my foot at the Singapore one. Some Malaysian I am.
Choa Chu Kang was a place full of HDB flats. If you take the LRT, you can see a lot of HDB flats around you.
At Kranji, there is a Singapore Turf Club. It was closed, at it was a Monday. I guess there was not any race. I am not really sure myself what day do they open though.
At Khatib, I went to find a MTG Card shop and it was just a small shop. Did not have what I need at the shop.
At Ang Mo Kio, I went to AMK Hub. I was wondering what was so famous at Ang Mo Kio, but I could not find the answer, as I have neither any Singaporean traveling with me nor the courage to ask people. But, I saw this damn long queue in front of the DBS bank at AMK Hub. My legs were killing me, as I do not know why my ankle hurts so badly.
At Bishan, I went to find another MTG shop. They did not have the things I need too, but at least I found a shop which was quite active.
In the end, I decided to go to Somerset and try my luck to catch a movie. Decided to go to Cathay Cineleisure. I have to say, the place was quite pack, even though it was a weekday. I cannot imagine weekends then. Anyway, luck was on my side, as I managed to get a seat for myself to watch Die Hard 4.0. Cannot wait to watch it, but the stomach called.
On t o Chicago's Steakhouse then. It was quite pack, but got a seat four one. Saw a person actually dropped a hot plate steak on the floor, from the kitchen. Pity him.
Anyway, I got myself a plate of Chicken Cacciatore. It was quite nice, even though the shop's name suggested that I should try their steak out. However, I was not a fan of steak, so too bad.
On to Die Hard 4.0. The cinema was really nice, cold and good sound system. Unlike Malaysian cinema, where the movie will start 15 minutes after the actual time of the movie should be screened, the movie in Singapore cinema started on time. Die Hard 4.0 was extremely nice. It was really full with action and humour. I really like Die Hard 1 and Bruce Willis, and since then, I watched Die Hard 2 and 3. And now 4.0, they are all great. Yippie Kai Yay, Mother Fucker. That was John McClane's line. Took a bus back to my aunt's place and that wraps up Day 2.
Day 3
Could not really wake up early this morning. I have to finsih the North East Line today. Started my journey to Punggol and slowly go downwards. I have to say, Punggol has a lot of lands which can be developed into HDB, condominiums, hotels, shopping complexes and also office buildings. I think in years to come, that place would be another great place of Singapore.
After that, I went to Sengkang. Sengkang is like Punggol, which has a lot of HDB flats all around, but Sengkang do not have many undeveloped lands like Punggol. The rest of the station had nothing much.
It was quite fun to stop by Little India. At first, I did not thought of having my lunch here cause there are a lot of spicy food there. But it was already 2.30, and I have to eat something. While I was walking around, I saw a group of Singhs standing outside of this shop called "The Banana Leaf Apolo". Then it hit me that it should be quite nice, as the rest of the stalls along the street was quite quiet. So I went in and it reminds me of mamak.
For a person who cannot eat spicy food, I ordered Fried Chicken with Nasi Briyani. The above picture showed what it looks like. It is really quite nice and the curry served was not that spicy, so luckily I could eat.
After finished my rice, I have this to filled up my stomach. What is this? It's Cheese Nan. Yeah, Cheese Nan reminds me of Sri Leena, which reminds me of Semenyih's mamak times at night. The food was quite delicious. If only Wilson was here, he would be able to make friends with the Macha there.
I went to Chinatown, and there were a lot of people all around. This was my first time at Chinatown, and I did not even been to Malaysia's Chinatown. There were a lot of things there, but not many things for me. Chinese words were printed on the floor of the MRT station.
For dinner, I went to Holland Village with my relatives to eat. After that, went to pay my cousin a visit at Cold Rock Ice-Cream stall. The first one in Singapore and she was working there. The ice-cream was quite nice and it was quite sweet.
After that, am back at my aunt's place and started surfing on blogging. Alright, that's it for day 3 and tomorrow is another day.
